Residential tenancy support

As you know, the Victorian Government recently announced its intention to extend the temporary corona virus (COVID-19) related residential tenancy measures, including eviction moratorium laws and rent relief grants, to 28 March 2021.

All Victorian residential tenants and landlords who are finding it difficult to reach agreement over rent reductions will continue to have access to the Residential Tenancies Dispute Resolution Scheme operated by Consumer Affairs Victoria.

Tenants, landlords and property managers are working constructively together and with us during this challenging period, and I thank you for your efforts.

Professional conduct rules

This is also an appropriate time to ensure that you understand the important obligations you have under the Estate Agents Act 1980. As an agent or agent’s representative, the professional rules you are required to comply with include:

Regulation 9: Acting in accordance with principal’s instructions.  You must act in accordance with the lawful instructions of a principal, except if it is contrary to good conduct.
